Background
While there is a lot of knowledge around structural support for thermoformed plastic trays, it does not translate to wet or dry pulp formed trays. SEE is gaining knowledge through iterative design, lab test, and production line tests.
Objective
Design a structure that can be molded into the different sides of the tray to provide increased strength for overwrap application such as fresh poultry.

Following that the objective was to Design a structure that can be molded into the different sides of the tray to provide increased strength for overwrap applications such as fresh poultry.
Overall I created nine designs of the tray that were prototyped and tested.
Performance Testing
Along the way we found out what works the best, and where were the obstacles within the structures,
and to finally create the design that performs and looks the best.
As for the final results. The displayed tray's structure was found to be the most effective in tests. the geometry around the flange, on the sides, and at the bottom of the tray adds anti-folding stiffness.
Result
Renderings
The final rendering of my tray feature 3d design of the tray with the film, colors, and finishes.
Following that, the selected design is to be made into tooling and used on the production line in France.
After that, I jumped into another project which was to create renders known as digital photography for the Cotton Ball tray.
To create convincing realism for the digital images of the product I used Adobe substance and Adobe Photoshop.
These realistic renderings of the Cottonball Tray enable I&D and Marketing to show customers what the package looks like and also decrease the number of physical packages that need to be shown.
