Introduction
On June 24 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned its 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade which cemented abortion rights in the country. Most abortions that were accessible for 55 years are now banned in at least 13 states as laws restricting the procedure. In the rest of the states, abortion is legal but may still be restricted, or access may otherwise be limited. This sudden reduction in abortion access violates an individual's bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom. Furthermore, overturning Roe v. Wade put women's health and lives at risk. Because of this, it is important to know the specific laws of each state regarding abortion, where it can be accessed, and what the mortality rate for both women and children is.
